Everett Lee Sites, 70, of Creighton, MO, passed away on July 6, 2011 at Centerpoint Medical Center.
Everett was born on February 3, 1941, and raised in Creighton, MO. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lucy Sites, brother, Max Sites, brother, Milton Sites, and nephew, Curtis Sites. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol; son, Darren Sites and his wife, Susan, of Olathe, KS; daughter, Johnna Sites and grandson, Brayden Carver, of Harrisonville, MO; brother, Robert Sites and his wife, Gert, of Leeton, MO; brother, Herman Sites and his wife, Joan, of Creighton, MO; brother, Ralph Sites and his wife, Linda, of Clinton, MO; brother, Pat Sites and his wife, Sandy, of Peculiar, MO; brother, Mike Sites and his wife, Cheryl, of Clinton, MO; sister-in-law, Trudy Sites, Warrensburg, MO; 12 nieces, 10 nephews and several cousins.
Everett retired from the City of Creighton’s Water & Wastewater treatment facility. He also previously worked as a welder and a printing technician. Everett, whose nickname was Fuzz, enjoyed racing cars, pulling garden tractors, hanging out with friends at the coffee shop, hunting and fishing. In his retirement, he helped brothers Herman and Pat with mowing and upkeep of Grant cemetery. He especially loved spending time with his best buddy, grandson Brayden.
Everett’s life was filled with laughter. With a quick wit and a twinkle in his eyes, he loved cracking jokes, playing pranks and sharing funny stories. He will be forever missed by those he made laugh and smile….his entire family and many friends. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the ICU nursing staff at Centerpoint for their compassionate care.
Everett was always eager to help anyone—be it a neighbor, friend or stranger. Most of his life, he was a volunteer for the Creighton fire department. He also was an organ donor, and the family takes comfort in knowing that in his death, he continues to help others in need.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, July 10, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Gardne City, Missouri. Cremantion with inurnment in the Grant Cemetery near Creighton, Missouri.
Family will receive friends Sunday, July 10, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
