Frances Isabell Baxter, 97, passed away at her home of 61 years in Strasburg, Missouri on August 2, 2014.
She was born on January 22, 1917 in Lankin, Kansas. Her parents were James and Minnolia Glenn. She precedes in death four siblings, Myrtle Zellner, Florine Miller, Laverne Higgenbotham and James Glenn. She and her husband, Bill Baxter, recently celebrated their 76th wedding anniversary. They were married on April 7, 1938 in Liberty, Missouri. They have one daughter, Betty Richardson of Camden, Missouri. Frances worked along with Bill on their farm for many years. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Wallace Lime and Fertilizer in East Lynne, from there she worked and retired from Pleasant Hill Co-Op.
Frances loved spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren. She and Bill enjoyed taking them on many vacations and trips to the lake. Frances loved to sew, embroider and crochet. She made many beautiful quilts for her daughter and grandchildren. She enjoyed writing letters to her family and friends. When she and Bill retired, they loved to travel with their fifth wheel trailer, spending a lot of time at Truman Lake.
She leaves behind a loving family. She is survived by her husband Bill; daughter, Betty Richardson; three grandchildren, Guy Kinnison (and Rhonda Cooper) of Richmond, Missouri; Ralph (and Julie) Kinnison; Lee’s Summit and Lisa (and Jim) Goble of Greenwood; ten great grandchildren, Laura (and Ryan) Schmidt, Liberty; Jason (and Shanna) Kinnison, Richmond; Jeremy (and Megan)Holler, Independence; Jesse Goble, Lee’s Summit, Cole Goble, Greenwood; Whitney Kinnison, Kansas City, Dillon Kinnison, Kansas City, Haley Kinnison, Lee’s Summit; Amy (and Jim)Morris, Springfield; Kyle Bishop, Excelsior Springs; four great great grandchildren, Carson and Brooke Schmidt; Grayson and Izzlie Kinnison; many family and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri with burial in the Strasburg Cemetery, Strasburg, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice.
