Frank Worley Gregg of Creighton, MO, was born April 11, 1924 near Creighton, MO, the son of George Alpha and Carrie Abigail (Hill) Gregg. He went to be with the Lord on Saturday August 31, 2013, at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville, MO, at the age of 89 years 4 months and 20 days. As a young boy, Frank began helping his father on their family farm. Frank graduated from Creighton High School in 1943.
Frank was united in marriage to Bonnie Louise Akins on May 3, 1953. To this union two children were born, Steven Frank and Diana Lynn.
Frank was a dairy farmer till he sold the cows in 1970. From there he continued to farm and raise beef cows. He worked with his father for years and then continued on after his dad retired. On June 2, 1976, he received his private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying and taking others with him.
Frank greatly enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and growing beautiful flowers. He grew an abundance of both to share with anyone who came to visit. He had many different kinds of flowers, but roses, gladiolus and hydrangeas were his favorites.
He had many great times with family and friends, taking several trips to different places. Two of his favorite trips were a cross country road top with Jim and Fay Gibb (brother and sister-in-law), and a trip to Hawaii for his and Bonnie’s 25th anniversary with friends Floyd and Yvonne Turner.
He deeply enjoyed studying his Bible and having Bible studies with people in his home. He always enjoyed good discussions.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie in June 2000, his son Steven in June 1990, and a sister Bonnie in December 2005.
He will be dearly missed by daughter Diana Hartzler and husband John of Garden City; a daughter-in-law Linda (Gregg) Buckner and husband Tom of Fairplay; five granddaughters, Hannah Krehbiel and husband Luke of Creighton; Heather Hartzler of Harrisonville, Kristen Hoenshell and husband Ricky of Battlefield; Heidi and Holly Hartzler of Garden City; two sisters Berniece Garey of Prescott, AZ; and Doris Schrock and husband Coburn of Garden City; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri. Burial is in the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
