Garry D. Chaney

Garry Dwain Chaney of Harrisonville, Missouri was born February 3, 1939 in Pittsburg, Missouri the son of Derhl Orel and Marjorie (Lipe) Chaney. He departed this life on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Benchmark Healthcare of Harrisonville at the age of 72 years and 19 days.
Garry was employed as a construction superintendant for Goforth Construction Co., Kansas City, Missouri until his retirement. He was a Navy veteran. Garry enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He had lived in Harrisonville and the Garden City, Missouri communities.
Besides his parents, Garry was preceded in death by his wife, Rosetta; a brother, Max and a sister, Derletta.
Garry is survived by two sons, Gregory A. Chaney and wife, Leah of Lee?s Summit, Missouri, Jamison Chaney of Oswego, New York; three daughters, Leigh Ann Cole and husband, Jeff of Lancaster Pennsylvania, Christine Cropp of Ashburn, Virginia, Rachelle Chaney of Bakersfield, California; eleven grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Larry Chaney of North Kansas City, Missouri, Lennie Chaney of Creighton, Missouri, Danny Chaney of Warsaw, Missouri; two sisters, Janey Finehart & Ann Chaney of Thomasville, Georgia; other relatives and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Monday, February 28, 2011 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri. Cremation with inurnment in the Wills Cemetery near Peculiar, Missouri.
