George Noyes Craycraft

George Noyes Craycraft of Cleveland, Missouri was born February 22, 1919 near Cleveland the son of Howard Everett and Jessie Opal (Noyes) Craycraft. He departed this life on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Cass Regional Medical Center, Harrisonville, Missouri at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 18 days.
On October 16, 1943 George was united in marriage to Hilda Irene Mueller in Harrisonville, Missouri.
George was a farmer and stockman before his retirement in 1982. In his early years of farming he started his farming operation with horses and his love of horses continued throughout his life. He formerly was a dairy farmer and had been a rural mail carrier even delivering the mail on horse back. George was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Raymore, Farm Bureau and an honorary member of Pacemakers 4-H Club. He enjoyed his family, grandchildren and showing and attending several parades with his miniature halflinger draft ponies. George was a lifelong area resident of Cleveland.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda on September 7, 1992; a grandson, Michael George Craycraft on March 6, 2003; three brothers, Albert, Joe and Edwin Craycraft; three sisters, Ethel Jacoby, Opal Godsey and Ruby Hutton.
George is survived by his son, George A. Craycraft and wife, Rhoda, Cleveland, Missouri; two daughters, Donna Sue Strohmeyer, Harrisonville, Missouri, Patricia Craycraft, Cleveland, Missouri; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Oliver Craycraft, Peculiar, Missouri, Kenneth Craycraft, Kansas City, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. Burial will be at the Lutheran Cemetery near Creighton, Missouri.
Family received friends Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the funeral home.
Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
