Georgia Johnson, 86, of Pleasant Hill, was born November 29, 1929, in Pattonsburg, Missouri, the daughter of Clarence Riley and Ruth Belle (Ellis) Fields. She departed this life at 9:45 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2015, at the Cass Regional Medical Center, Harrisonville.
Georgia was a 1947 Civil Bend High School, Pattonsburg graduate. On October 14, 1951 she was united in marriage to Walter Johnson in Pattonsburg.
She was a homemaker. She enjoyed crafting, knitting, and crocheting.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Mary Louise Johnson; one brother, Clarence Fields; and two sisters, Genevieve Besz and Geraldine Swaidner.
She is survived by her husband Walter of the home; two sons, James W. (and Helen Ann) of Perry Michigan, and John Riley of Grandview, Missouri; five grandchildren, Megan Smith of Indianapolis, Indiana, Katherine Johnson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Karri Johnson and Riley Johnson of Grandview, and Hillary Johnson of Grandview; one great grandson, Rowan Cloud Smith of Indianapolis; one sister Marianne Fields of Lee’s Summit; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation was held Monday, January 4, 2016, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
Services were held Monday, January 4, 2016, at the funeral home. Reverend D. Kent Deubner of the Pleasant Hill First Christian Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers are James Johnson, John Johnson, David Kosfeld, Larry Kosfeld, H.A. Todd, and Paul Whaley.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
