Georgia Lee Wrigley age 79 of Harrisonville, Missouri departed this life Friday, November 11, 2011 at the home of her daughter in Belton, Missouri surrounded with love and family. Georgia was the youngest of 10 children, born to Charles Calvin and Georgia Anna (Scott) Slavens, in Eldon, Missouri. She was married to George H. Wrigley on June 28th, 1952. Together, they had 3 children. After the birth of their first child, Teresa, the family moved to Holden, Washington. This is where their second child, Judy, was born. They moved to Kansas City shortly before the birth of their third child, Michael. They moved to a small farm in Archie, where they lived for 6 years. There she met some life long friends. They moved to Harrisonville in 1966 where she remained until the last days of her life.
Georgia was a homemaker and mother until 1966 when she went to work at Cass County Supply, in Harrisonville. She worked briefly at Lee's Summit Lumber, in the shop. She went to work at Anaconda Wire and Cable as their bookkeeper/accountant, where she worked until retirement. After retirement her and George bought an RV and did some traveling.
Georgia loved family get togethers, playing cards with friends, crocheting, music and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Wrigley, her parents, Charles Calvin and Georgia Anna (Scott) Slavens, 3 brothers, and 5 sisters. Georgia is survived by a son, Michael G. Wrigley of Independence, Missouri; two daughters, Teresa Salsbury and husband Steve of Belton, Missouri and Judy L. Miller and husband Dennis of Harrisonville, Missouri; a step-daughter, Donna Scott and husband Lucien of Kingsville, Missouri; a sister, Nellie Brandon of Olathe, Kansas; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Misouri. Burial is in the Brady cemetery near Harrisonville.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
