Gerald Allen ?Jerry? McFerrin of Harrisonville, Missouri was born October 24, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Allen Alfred and Ioma Verna (Lotspeich) McFerrin. He departed this life on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 65 years, 8 months and 10 days.
On May 4, 1984, Jerry was united in marriage to Patsy Ann (Thurman) Mallinson in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Jerry was employed at Sioux Chief near Peculiar, Missouri. He earlier was employed at Western Electric, Lee?s Summit, Missouri, Twin City Tool, Olathe, Kansas and Kansas City Power & Light, Kansas City, Missouri. He was a retired Navy veteran and a member of Lord of Love Lutheran Church, Belton, Missouri. Jerry was an avid car buff, enjoying street rods and dragsters. He was a member of IBEW Union and had served as a Union steward. Jerry had moved to Harrisonville in 1980.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy McFerrin of the home; a daughter, Melissa Foss, Belton, Missouri; three step-sons, David Mallinson and Martin Mallinson both of Kansas City, Missouri, Edward Mallinson, Harrisonville, Missouri; a step-daughter, Kimberly Mallinson, Harrisonville, Missouri; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Beverly A. McFerrin, Kansas City, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Cremation. A Memorial Service was held Thursday, July 9, 2009 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri.
