Gertrude Marie Holt, 87, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born Friday, May 1, 1925 in Tuscumbia, Missouri, the daughter of John and Nina (Helton) Abbett. She departed this life at 9:00 p.m., Thursday, September 20, 2012 at her home near Pleasant Hill surrounded with love and family.
On February 10, 1964, she was united in marriage to Thomas Albert Holt in Crookston, Minnesota.
Marie was employed as an Electrical/Mechanical Inspector for the Bendix Corporation, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill First Christian Church, Ivy Leaf Chapter #215 Order of the Eastern Star and the Pleasant Hill ABWA. She was also a proud member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local Union #778.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son Lee Jay Marcum in November 2011; and two sisters Pauline Boyer and Helen Bach.
Marie is survived by her husband Tom of the home; one daughter Gretchen Bartko and her husband George of Basehor, Kansas; one son Andy Holt and his wife Deborah of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one sister Lois Mansell of Raytown, Missouri; 9 Grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home. Reverend D. Kent Deubner, minister of the church will officiate. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers are Mickey Bartko, Gary Coe, Mark Guffey, Clifford Holt, Clint Holt, Jacob Lampe, Travis Marcum, Matt Selig, Dustin Oldfield, and Michael Urbani
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Tuesday.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill First Christian Church Daycare and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
