Gordon Garrett Beamer, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born December 24, 1914, in Gunn City, Missouri, the son of Mark Harvey and Eva May (Garrett) Beamer. He departed this life Friday, January 5, 2007, Research Medical Center, Kansas City at the age of 92 years and 11 days.
On April 7, 1940, Gordon was united in marriage to Margaret Jane Brent in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Gordon was a farmer and stockman all his life and loved raising crops and livestock. He became a Christian at an early age and was active in church all his life. Gordon loved to sing in the choir and also sang in quartets. He was a Sunday School teacher for 53 years and was ordained as a deacon in 1942. Gordon was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, Harrisonville.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Beamer on August 3, 1984; an infant brother, Harvey Glenn Beamer and an infant sister, Eva Ruth Beamer.
He is survived by two sons, Gary G. Beamer and wife Karen, Overland Park, Kansas, Larry D. Beamer and wife Faith, Harrisonville, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Rachel, Sarah and Mark; a great-grandson, Robie Garrett Robinson; a brother, Berle Dean Beamer, Flemington, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 8, 2007 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Garden City Cemetery.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Baptist Church Memorial Fund, Harrisonville.
