Mrs. Ida May Parris, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born May 7, 1918 in Harrisonville the daughter of Jasper Francis and Anna Louise (Welborn) Hutchinson. She departed this life Sunday, August 27, 2006, at her son's home near Harrisonville at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 20 days.
On November 29, 1939, Ida May was united in marriage to Joseph Emmett Parris in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Ida May was a homemaker and earlier had taught in rural schools. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Stitch and Chat Club and was a Pink Lady at the Cass Medical Center all of Harrisonville. Ida May attended Central Missouri State Teacher's College, Warrensburg, Missouri and earned her two year teaching certificate. She had lived in Harrisonville before moving to Escondido, California and then moving back to Harrisonville in 1943. Ida May enjoyed bowling, gardening and taking pictures.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Parris on June 18, 2000; two sons, Alan Kent Parris and Dale Lynn Parris.
She is survived by two sons, Don Parris and wife Linda, Paul Parris and wife Libby, all of Harrisonville, Missouri; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 31, 2006 at the First Baptist Church, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Lottie Moon Fund and may be left at the funeral home.
