Jack H. Atteberry

January 10, 1930 — February 26, 2017

Jack H. Atteberry of Harrisonville, MO passed from this life on February 26, 2017 at the age of 87. He was born in Joplin, MO January 10, 1930, the eldest son of Perry H. and Mae (Carr) Atteberry. On September 15, 1956 he was united in marriage to Patricia Holt at The Sacred Heart Church in Columbia, MO, and they enjoyed sixty years of marriage.
Jack served four years in the U.S. Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. He received a BSEd from the University of Missouri and a Masters from Arizona State University. He retired from AT&T (formerly Western Electric) in North Andover, MA and then returned to the Kansas City area. Jack had been a member of The Society of Manufacturing Engineers, KC and the Junior Chambers of Commerce in Tempe, AZ and Joplin, MO. A member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Jack was a 3rd Degree member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 6550 and a member of the 4th Degree Assembly 3080.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Kathryn Johnson, and Mary and Barbara Atteberry; and two brothers, Paul R. Atteberry and James Atteberry.
Jack is survived by his wife, Patricia; four daughters, Teresa (Kevin) Riggs, Pamela (Michael) Batliner, Laurel Carr, and Julia (Fabrice) Reffay; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren and 15 nieces and nephews. Jack was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was devoted to his family, his church and his country.
A funeral mass was held, Tues, March 7, 2017, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2700 E. Mechanic, Harrisonville, MO with burial in the Mount Olivet Cemetery.
