James A Adams

James Arthur ?Jim? Adams, age 71 passed away on March 10, 2010. He was born on January 11, 1939 in Richmond, Indiana to the late Arthur Adams and Dorothy Gray Adams.
He was predeceased by both parents; two brothers, Wayne Adams and John Adams; three sisters, Donna Wise, Rosie Turner and Nancy Pheanis.
Jim attended Brownsville High School where he graduated in 1957. He proudly served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Intrepid. He worked for Merita Bakeries garage division for more than 30 years. He was a beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 45 years, Gail Wiggins Adams; one son Jeffrey Adams and wife Mary; three daughters, Janice Oakley and husband Jimmy, Kimberly Morris and husband David of Kansas City, MO and Sheryl Phillips and husband Jesse.
He is also survived by three sisters, Betty Austerman and husband Bill, Janet Adams, all of Richmond, Ind. and Phyllis Patalano of New Jersey. ?Papa? was adored by seven grandchildren, Benjamin Morris, Joshua Morris and wife Julie, Amber Matthews and husband Travis, all Of Kansas City, MO, Jessica Phillips, Kaitlyn Phillips, Megan Hodges and Nickolas Adams all of Rocky Mount. Papa?s dear little ones are his great grandchildren, Aiden Morris and Lilly Matthews of Kansas City. Jim also enjoyed the love of many friends, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 15, 2010 at the Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount, North Carolina with burial in the Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
Local arrangements were under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
