James A. Dryden

James Allen Dryden of Garden City, Missouri was born September 19, 1938 in Bachelor, Missouri the son of Orville Lynn dn Alice Juanita (Wilks) Dryden. He departed this life on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at his home in Garden City at the age of 70 years, 7 months and 10 days.
On September 16, 1961, James was untied in marriage to Ruth Ann Buffington in Mexico, Missouri.
James was employed as a transmission specialist for the Laidlaw Bus Company, Grandview, Missouri until his retirement on April 13, 2007. He was an Army veteran, a member of the First Christian Church and the American Legion Post #498, Garden City. He enjoyed his family, deer hunting with his son and grandsons and gambling. James had moved to Garden City in 1963.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth on April 15, 2007; his son, Michael Wayne Dryden on November 6, 1964; an infant brother, Charles and a sister, Uvon Wykoff.
He is survived by his son, James L. Dryden and wife, Aimee, Adrian, Missouri; a daughter, Antje Hepp, Mainz, Germany; seven grandchildren, Crystal King, James P. and Jeremy Dryden, Daniela, Verena, Lisa Marie and Andre Hepp. a great-grandson, Tyllen King; two brothers, Don Dryden, Urich, Missouri, Larry Wayne Dryden, Collis, Illinois; four sisters, Fay Henneberry and Sandra McDermoth both of Mexico, Missouri, Evelyn Reichert, Centralia, Missouri, Glenda Bullard, Mount Pleasant, Texas; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 2, 2009 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial at the Garden City, Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
