James Charles Castor

Major James Charles Castor, 76, Harrisonville, Missouri was born July 3, 1945 in Boone, Iowa the son of Andrew and Pearl (Huntly) Castor. He was promoted to glory on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Overland Park, Kansas.

On February 24, 1973, James was united in marriage to Clarie Bell Alexander.

James was employed as a minister using his gifts to serve where he was needed, including preaching, teaching bible study and helping however he could. He received his associates degree from Olivet Nazarene College. In 1983, James and Clarie entered officer training and were commissioned as members of the Guardians of the Truth session in 1985. They served in many appointments for 26 years until their retirement in 2010. In his retirement, James continued to preach and teach bible study at the Southland Salvation Army Corps. In his spare time, he loved to watch sports, westerns, do Sudoku books and word search.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carla Castor; several brothers and sisters.

James is survived by his wife, Clarie; son, Andrew (Georgia); granddaughter, Alexis (Isaac) and grandson, Colby; a great-grandchild; brother, Gene and many nieces, nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Cremation. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the Salvation Army Southland Corps, 6111 E. 129th Street, Grandview, Missouri 64030 with reception to follow.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
