James Parris

June 18, 1946 — March 1, 2015

James Leonard “Jimmie” Parris, Jr., 68, of Clinton, formerly of Pleasant Hill, was born, June 18, 1946, in Pleasant Hill, the son of James Leonard, Sr. and Lela Faye (Rosanbalm) Parris. He departed this life Sunday, March 1, 2015, at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton.
Jim was a 1963 Pleasant Hill High School graduate and was a United States Navy Veteran.
On December 4, 2014, he was united in marriage to Deborah (Duncan) Hull in Benton County.
Jim was employed as a Propane Salesman for CO-OP in Pleasant Hill, retiring in 2003. While working, he also farmed and raised cattle. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Jim was a member of the Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Linda Walker.
He is survived by his wife Debbie of Clinton; one son James Scott Parris of Pleasant Hill; two daughters, Karen Kay (and Brad) Nichols of Kansas City and Jill Nicole (and Kelly) Keister of Adrian; eight grandchildren, Coleton James Parris, Sullivan Paige Parris, Savannah Nicole Parris, Jessica Kathleen (and Aaron) Asher, Richard Tyler Marks, Samantha Keister, Tearsten Keister, Tanna Keister, and Karter Keister; two great grandchildren, Mathew Asher and Drake Asher; two brothers, Jackie Lee (and Janice) Parris and Jon Kent (and Tawnya) Parris, both of Pleasant Hill; one sister Sheryl (and Danny) Knox of Archie; brother-in-law Charley Walker of Pleasant Hill; other relatives; and a host of many, many friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 6, 2015, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Chaplain Daniel Porterfield will officiate. Graveside military services and interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with full military honors by the U.S Navy and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3116 Honor Guard. Casket bearers are Vance Chaney, Danny Knox, Sheryl Knox, Jack Parris, Jon Parris, Les Parris, and Charley Walker.
Memorial contributions are suggested the St. Jude Children’s Hospital and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
