Janis J. Sims

Mrs. Janis Joan Sims of Harrisonville, Missouri was born January 18, 1935 in Kingsley, Iowa the daughter of William Murray and Linda Louise (Witt) Haggin. She departed this life on Friday, June 11, 2010 at Golden Years Care Services, Harrisonville at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 23 days.
On January 15, 1955, Janis was united in marriage to William Joseph ?Bill? Sims.
Janis was a homemaker and was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed following national and local politics, talking with her friends on the CB radio and being with her family. Janis had lived in Blue Springs, Missouri before moving to Harrisonville in 2007.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Janis is survived by her husband, Bill Sims, Harrisonville, Missouri; two sons, Willard M. Sims, Harrisonville, Missouri, Robert J. Sims and wife, Chrystena, Wichita, Kansas; a daughter, Lynda S. Denton and husband, Don, Tecumseh, Kansas; four grandsons, Don, Bill, Dan and Mike; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. Inturment at Pennell-Gabel cemetery in Topeka, Kansas.
