Jimmy Gale Meade, of Peculiar, Missouri, was born February 26, 1947 in Monett, Missouri, the son of James Donald and Ruby (Anderson) Meade. He departed this life Sunday, February 18, 2007, at his home near Peculiar at the age of 59 years 11 months and 22 days.
On August 20, 1966, Jimmy was united in marriage to Phyllis Jeannette Rowe in Mexico.
Jimmy was a self employed carpenter and owned and operated Meade & Son Ceilings in Peculiar since 1977. He was a graduate of Ruskin High School. Jimmy loved horseback riding and raising game chickens.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis J. Meade of the home; three sons, James Meade, Raymore, Missouri, Chris Meade, Greenwood, Missouri, Jessie Gibbons, Shawnee Mission, Kansas; a daughter, Denise Harris, Peculiar, Missouri; two grandchildren, Willie and Ava Marie; his mother, Ruby Clark, Harrisonville, Missouri; a sister, Connie Mullen, Belton, Missouri.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 22, 2007 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Mercy Hospital.
