Joseph Clinton Eastin, Harrisonville, Missouri was born April 11, 1929 in Marceline, Missouri the son of William and Veronika Marie (Thiel) Eastin. He departed this life on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at his home in Harrisonville surrounded by love and family at the age of 82 years, 7 months and 13 days.
On September 13, 1947 Joe was united in marriage to Norma Lee Svensson in Brookfield, Missouri.
Joe was employed as an oil dispatcher for the Amoco Pipeline Company, Freeman, Missouri for 43 years until his retirement. He was a Marine veteran of the Korean War, a member of the First Baptist Church and the American Legion all of Harrisonville. Joe enjoyed his family, sharing stories at Bunger’s Garage, the outdoors and was an avid duck hunter at the Schnell Lake Duck Club near Creighton, Missouri. He had lived in Kirksville and Freeman, Missouri before moving to Harrisonville in 1960.
Besides his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Norma on December 19, 1990; an infant son, Danny Joe; a brother, William H.A. Eastin and a special friend, Norma Pearl Hawkins.
He is survived by his son, Craig Eastin, Harrisonville, Missouri; his daughter, Cynthia L. Miltenberger and husband, Mark, Lee’s Summit, Missouri; a granddaughter, Jayme Carter Decker and husband, Robert, Belton, Missouri; his sister, Betty Anne Heintzelman, Leavenworth, Kansas; other relatives a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.
