John L. Conran

January 20, 1932 — November 28, 2020

John L. Conran, 88, of Harrisonville, Missouri departed this life on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at his home surrounded by love and family.

He was born January 20, 1932 in Glasgow (Howard County), Missouri to Francis Lee Conran and Dorothy E. (Hackley) Conran. He graduated from Lillis High School in 1948 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1955. He was married to June E. McLaughlin from 1952 to 1970. He worked at AT&T as a Tool and Die Maker from 1959 to 1992 when he retired. He and Carol Ritchie were married December 26, 1992. He loved hunting, chopping firewood, telling stories and spending time with his family. He was a devoted catholic with strong faith which is a comfort to his family. He will be forever loved and missed by so many.

He was preceded in death by his parents and youngest sister, Judy Suttner as well as many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

John is survived by his wife, Carol Conran of the home; 6 children, Michael L. Conran and wife Maureen, Overland Park, Kansas, Diane L. Etzkorn and husband Richard, Olathe, Kansas, Patrick N. Conran, Harrisonville, Missouri, Timothy A. Conran and wife Rhonda, Harrisonville, Missouri, David B. Conran and wife Nancy, St. Louis, Missouri, Daniel R. Conran and wife Erika, McKinney, Texas; Carol's Children, Donald V. Ritchie and wife Laurie, Kansas City, Missouri, Diane M. Ritchie, Kansas City, Missouri; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Parrott, Lenexa, Kansas, Joyce Morgan, Mission, Kansas; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 4, 2020 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville, Missouri.

Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. with a Rosary at 9:45 a.m., Friday, December 4, 2020 at the church.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 4, 2020 at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri with Military Honors.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the MDS Foundation.

The funeral will be available for live streaming by going to the churches web site; www.ollhv.org.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
