Johnnie R. Russell

Mrs. Johnnie Ruth Russell of Harrisonville, Missouri was born August 27, 1926 in Chickasha, Oklahoma the daughter of George L. and Mamie (Sneed) Henly. She departed this life on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Crown Care Center, Harrisonville at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 19 day. On March 16, 1942, Johnnie was united in marriage to Jack A. Russell in Hobart, Oklahoma. Johnnie was a homemaker. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a wonderful friend. Johnnie will be remembered by her family for being a great cook. She had moved to Harrisonville in 1955. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack on December 7, 2004; two sons, Raymond A. Russell and George L. Russell; two brothers, Raymond and Lucian; a sister, Jesse. Johnnie is survived by a son, David M. Russell, Harrisonville, Missouri; a daughter, Donna S. Kircher and husband, Russell, Harrisonville; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri. Burial will be in the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
