Judy May Butler of Harrisonville, Missouri was born August 2, 1948 in Sac City, Iowa the daughter of Harold Peter and Rose Margaret (Henson) Otool. She departed this life on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri surrounded by love and family at the age of 64 years, 9 months and 24 days.
On May 6, 1967, Judy was united in marriage to Dan Butler in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Judy was employed as a tax examiner for the Internal Revenue Service, Kansas City until her retirement in July of 2010. She was a member of East Lynne Baptist Church, East Lynne, Missouri, Beta Sigma Pi social sorority, the Red Hats and enjoyed playing Bunko. Judy was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of Harrisonville High School. She took great pride in her family grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her cooking, her love of the ocean, bird watching and traveling.
Besides her parents, Judy was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Doug.
Judy is survived by her husband, Dan Butler of the home; a son, Matthew Butler and wife, Jamie, Lee’s Summit, Missouri; her daughter, Kim Saunders and husband, Ray, Harrisonville, Missouri; six grandchildren, Ryan, Taylor, Colton, Ashley, Dalton and Kaitlyn; three great-grandchildren, Addyson, Avery and Emma Grace; two brothers, Richare Otool, Kingsport, Tennessee, Ronnie Otool, Knoxville, Tennessee, Jimmy Otool, Sac City, Iowa; other relatives and a host of friends.
A Celebration Of Life Visitation was held Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. Cremation with inurnment in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the KU Cancer Center.
