Kathryn Poling of Harrisonville, Missouri was born October 28, 1927 near Latour, Missouri the daughter of George Alonzo and Maudie Jewel (Tremain) Voyles. She departed this life on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Crown Care Center, Harrisonville at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 1 day.
On June 1, 1947 Kathryn was united in marriage to Claude Harold Poling in Harrisonville.
Kathryn was employed as a retail clerk for Buy Rite Grocery Store and later for Scavuzzo’s Grocery Store, Harrisonville until her retirement in 1987. After retirement she obtained her real estate license in 1985 and went to work for Century 21 in Harrisonville. Kathryn was a member of the First Christian Church, California, Missouri. She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, bowling and was part of several local bowling leagues. Kathryn had moved to Harrisonville in 1963.
Besides her parents, Kathryn was preceded in death her husband, Claude on July 6, 1982 and her sister, June Cowan.
Kathryn is survived by two daughters, Sharon Davis and husband, Bob, Killeen, Texas, Claudia Davis and husband, Rick, Lee’s Summit, Missouri; four granddaughters, Centa, Brittania, Michelle and Amanda; six great-grandchildren; her sister, Kathleen Hedden, Harrisonville, Missouri; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Holden Cemetery, Holden, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
