Kimberly A. Smith died unexpectedly at her home on Friday, November 20th, 2015. Kim was born on February 3rd, 1973 in Morris, Illinois.

She was part of the 1991 graduating class of Dwight Township High School. She went on to study nursing at Joliet Junior College and Kankakee Community College. She worked as a nursing aid at Morris Hospital and also at Grundy County Nursing Home. She also worked for a home health agency in Morris, Illinois. Kim was employed as a Doctors Assistant for Dr. Charles Comfort for several years. She also served as an EMT with Mazon Ambulance. She was currently employed by St. Joseph Surgical Associates as a Practice Manager in Kansas City, Missouri.

Kim married M. Brandon Smith on May 20, 2000 in Selma, Alabama. They resided in Urich, Missouri.

Kim is survived by her husband, Brandon, her parents Larry and Jean Johnson, one sister Amy (Joey) Kern, and 5 nieces and nephews, Cody Bratcher, Ellie & Evie Sansom, Thomas Nichols, and Walker & Chloe Motley. Kim also had three specials girls that were a part of her everyday life, her non-biological daughters Sydni, Alexx and Mackenzie Roofner.

Kim was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John and Loraine Johnson and maternal grandparents, Cliff and Marge Lowery.

Kim touched everyones life in a special way. She helped the young and elderly. Her smile was infectious and would light up every room she entered. She was smart, kind and such a beautiful person inside and out.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri. Cremation.

Family received friends Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the funeral home.

The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Kimberly Smith Memorial Fund.
