Larry Neal Kauffman of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida was born December 12, 1942 in Harrisonville, Missouri the son of Vernon Franklin and Roberta Beulah (McCulloh) Kauffman. He departed this life peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2015at Broward Health Medical Center, Ft. Lauderdale at the age of 72 years, 4 months and 15 days.
Larry was a graduate of 8 Mile rural school near Garden City, Missouri and a CMSU Lab High School, Warrensburg, Missouri. In 1964, Larry graduated from Gupton-Jones School of Mortuary Science, Dallas, Texas and was a licensed embalmer and funeral director in the State of Missouri. Larry dedicated 20 years to funeral service being employed at Floral Hills Funeral Home, Stine & McClure Funeral Home and Newcomer's Funeral Homes all in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1991 he moved to Ft. Lauderdale and made a career change to the food and beverage management industry until his retirement in 2006.
Besides his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Jane Taylor and a great nephew, Vernon Ernest Taylor.
Larry is survived by his sister, Virginia Hughes, Lee's Summit, Missouri; a niece, Stacy (Rob) Paszkiewicz; three nephews, Rody (Sara) Taylor and Billy Taylor, Tyler Hughes (Rebecca); a brother-in-law, Ernie Taylor; four great-nephews; five great-nieces; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. Burial is in the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
