Lavona Hazel Miller

Mrs. Lavona Hazel Miller of Harrisonville, Missouri was born July 24, 1915 in Climax Springs, Missouri the daughter of Archie Loren and Effie Mae (Freeman) Miller. She departed this life on Monday, May 31, 2010 at Crown Care Center, Harrisonville at the age of 94 years, 10 months and 7 days.
On October 5, 1935, Lavona was united in marriage to Donald D. Stonestreet in Moberly, Missouri and later married Alfred Miller in 1964.
Lavona was employed as a legal secretary for L.M. Crouch in Harrisonville for several years and later served as interim Circuit Clerk for Cass County until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Harrisonville, where she was a 30 year member of the choir, a 50 year member of The Order of the Eastern Star #340, Garden City, Missouri and had sang for several years for the Garden City Community Choir. Lavona loved to travel and take cruises, play bridge and was a member of the Keenagers Travel Group, Kansas City. She will be remembered by her family as a ?Classy Lady? and for her love of family. Lavona had lived in East Lynne, Garden City and Harrisonville before moving to Belton, Missouri.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; two brothers, Harry L. Miller and an infant brother, Archie L. Miller; two sisters, Marguerite Yoder and Donna Belle Miller.
Lavona is survived by her two daughters, Doneita L. Fasl, Belton, Missouri, Gayla J. Lamb and husband, Vearl, Gravois Mills, Missouri; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Fri., June 4, 2010 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville with burial in the Clearfork Cemetery near Garden City, MO.
