Lawrence Dickerson

Lawrence Woodson ""Moon"" Dickerson of Creighton, Missouri was born June 10, 1933 in Butler, Missouri the son of Frank Joshua and Edna Lee (Evans) Dickerson. He departed this life Sunday, June 18, 2006 at Camden Health Center, Harrisonville, Missouri at the age of 73 years and 8 days.
On April 5, 1952, Lawrence was united in marriage to Margaret Joyce Gwinn in Butler, Missouri.
Lawrence was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers Local 101, Kansas City, Missouri until his retirement in November 1994. He attended the First Baptist Church, Creighton, Missouri. Lawrence enjoyed raising and training horses, trail riding and team penning. He had lived in Garden City, Missouri before moving to Creighton in 2001.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Dickerson of the home; two sons, Lawrence ""Bruce"" Dickerson and wife, Pamela Sue, Garden City, Missouri, Phillip A. Dickerson, Creighton, Missouri; two daughters, Marcia K. Chamberlain, Olathe, Kansas, Susan E. Wilson and husband, Ernest, Sr, Creighton, Missouri; nine grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Cox, Harrisonville, Missouri, Barbara Hill, Garden City, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Cremation. A celebration of life visitation was held Sunday, June 25, 2006 at the First Baptist Church, Creighton, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Missouri Baptist Children's Home, Peculiar, Missouri.
