Mrs. Lillie June Spangler of Harrisonville, Missouri was born June 3, 1927 in Harrisonville, Missouri the daughter of Charles Everett and Lillie May (Winchell) Barnard. She departed this life on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Benchmark Healthcare of Harrisonville at the age of 85 years, 5 months and 18 days.
On August 21, 1946, June was united in marriage to Paul Edward Spangler in Olathe, Kansas.
June was a homemaker. Earlier, she was employed as a seamstress for the Garden City Garment Factory, Garden City, Missouri. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Harrisonville and was a lifelong area resident. June enjoyed her family, visiting with friends, bowling, going to the Lake and making rag rugs with her husband, Paul.
Besides her parents, June was preceded in death by her husband, Paul on April 7, 2012; a son, Kenny on November 4, 2007; a great-grandson, Brennan Morgan Coleman on July 25, 2000; two brothers, Charles and Emmette; four sisters, Alta, Glessie, Edith and Florence.
June is survived by a son, Charles Spangler, Harrisonville, Missouri; three grandchildren, Ryan, Gayla and Amy; four great- grandchildren, Reese, Tyler, Kealee and Olivia; a brother, Glen Barnard, Stella, Missouri; a sister, Blanche Weidenfeller, State of Michigan; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Wills Cemetery near Peculiar, Missouri.
