Linness Ray McDonald of Harrisonville, Missouri was born February 21, 1939 in Garner, Texas. Son of Charles Edward McDonald and Mabel Arline Singletary. He departed this life on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri, surrounded by family and friends at the age of 77 years and 15 days.
Linness was united in marriage to Frances Louise Smith on October 17, 1958 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Linness began employment in the 1950s at Texeramics, Kissick, and All Products; in the 1960s at Mineral Wells Clay Products, the Service Station, and Landsharp Chevrolet. Linness spent the majority of his career at Union Camp box factory from 1967 until he retired in 1996. He became a member of the Belton Assembly of God Church in 1966. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching his sons and grandchildren play sports, and taking trips to Branson to attend Country Western music concerts.
Linness was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, and 5 brothers.
Linness is survived by his wife Frances; two sons, Lewis McDonald and wife, Kathy of Peculiar, Missouri, and Terry McDonald and wife, Kimberly of Raymore, Missouri; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; sister, Leta Kates of Harrisonville, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Wills Cemetery near Peculiar, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
