Lorene 'Jim' Snow

Mrs. Lorene “Jim” Snow, 101, of Lone Jack, was born December 6, 1914, in Weaubleau, Missouri, the daughter of William “Herm” and Bessie I. (Durnel) Wilson. She departed this life at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016, at her daughter’s home in Lone Jack surrounded with love and family.
On January 25, 1934, she was united in marriage to Leslie L. “Grumpy” Snow in Jackson County. They moved to Lone Jack in 1942 to make their permanent home. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1997.
Jim was a homemaker and devoted farmers wife. She worked alongside her husband farming in the Lone Jack area. She was also a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished spending time with her family. She was baptized in 1948, and was a long standing and active member of the Lone Jack Christian Church. She loved quilting, crocheting and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
She will be greatly missed with loving memories remaining.
Jim was also preceded in death by one son Leroy Snow, one brother, and six sisters.
She is survived by one son, Don Snow of Bradleyville, Missouri; one daughter and son-in-law Joyce and Dale Hunt of Lone Jack; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other relatives; and a host of many friends.
Visitation was held Tuesday, March 15, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 15, at the funeral home. Reverend Creighton Cox will officiate. Burial will be in the Lone Jack Cemetery. Casket bearers are Sean Corson, Eric Lamb, Tony Lamb, Brady Pope, Nolan Pope, Ryan Prettyman, Wesley Prettyman, William Prettyman, Dustin Rhoads, Kirt Snow, Nathan Snow, Christopher White, and David White.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Lone Jack Christian Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
