Lorie Lynn Wimsatt McGee

Lorie Lynn McGee of Harrisonville, Missouri was born July 11, 1969 in Butler, Missouri the daughter of Norman Ledson Wimsatt and Mary Ellen (David) Prettyman. She departed this life on Friday, March 4, 2011 at her home near Harrisonville at the age of 41 years, 5 months and 23 days. Lorie will be remembered for the love she gave to her children, Joshua, Justin, Jasen and Kenzie. She enjoyed attending sporting events and school activities for her children. Lorie liked nature, arranging flowers, working in the garden and riding horses. She was never afraid to voice her opinion and her family always came first. Lorie was preceded in death by her father, Norman. She is survived by three sons, Joshua Wimsatt and Justin McGee both of Grandview, Missouri, Jasen McGee, of the home; her daughter, Kenzie Wimsatt of the home; mother and step-father, Mary Prettyman and husband, Sam, Harrisonville, Missouri; a brother, Loren Wimsatt, Adrian, Missouri; a step-brother, Sammy Prettyman, Buffalo, Missouri; a half-brother, Lonnie Wimsatt, Archie, Missouri; a half-sister, Renee Wimsatt, Osage Beach, Missouri; her maternal grandmother, Bessie Smelser, Harrisonville, Missouri; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Lorie Wimsatt McGee Childrens College Memorial Fund.
