CHARLES MARGARET (STARK) TIDWELL, Age 99, Holt MO, formally of Freeman, MO, died July 17, 2017 at Plattsburg MO.
She was born in Freeman, MO. Her parents James B. Stark, Sr. and Mary Pearl (Hook) Stark, four brothers, and three sisters, preceded her in death.
She was employed by Missouri State Auditors Office for 10 years. She was also employed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Picture, Paramount Pictures, and Universal Pictures, and Research Hospital. Prior to her retirement, she was a member of the Women of the Motion Picture Association, a member of Local Number 23, The Theatrical Stage Employees and Motion Picture Machine Operators. She regularly attended the Motion Picture Retirees brunch at the Screenland Complex.
She married Leman Dawson and after his death married William E Tidwell. They moved to her family home in Freeman MO upon their retirement. After Mr. Tidwell's death, she moved to Holt MO, to be near family and friends.
She was somewhat gifted. She made many beautiful quilts and gave most to family and friends. She wrote novels and shared them with family and friends, She was often seen working in her garden and her flower garden, which she shared with family and friends. She often traveled to visit friends and family, and prior to her husbands death, they traveled to their RV, spending their winters in California.
Her motto was to enjoy life, create happiness along the way for others you meet along life's highway.
At one time she called 10 older people daily, most of which are now deceased, just to cheer them up.
She is survived by one son, Charles Dawson, Holt MO, two grandchildren, Angel O'Dell, Gallatin, MO, and Robert Dawson, Kansas City , MO. Six Grandchildren, William Heishman, Morgan Anderson, Parker Dawson, Charles (Chuck) Dawson, Justice Dawson and Jessica (Justin) Williams. Two nephews, JB Barton and Bruce Barton, both from California and one niece, Jeanie Stark, Texas and George K. a very dear friend, Topeka KS.
A graveside service was held Monday, July 24, 2017 at Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, Missouri. Family received friends on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
