Marilyn B. Bybee

Marilyn G. Bybee, 73, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born Tuesday, November 16, 1937 in Flemington, Missouri, the daughter of Henry Z. and Addie L. (McKay) Carnes. She departed this life at 3:20 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family.
On July 5, 1984, she was united in marriage to Larry W. Bybee in Raytown, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2010.
She worked for AT&T in Kansas City for over 30 years retiring in 1989. She later worked for Sprint until 2002.
Marilyn was a gifted artist and enjoyed oil painting after retirement, later she enjoyed spending time with her many friends watching her "shows" and going to the boats to play slots or just playing scratch offs for which her luck was well known. In the earlier years, her interests where varied from showing horses to riding motorcycles and even racing stock cars.
She is survived by her three children Jerry Yates of Clinton, Rhonda Pruett and her husband Donnie of Belton, and Michael Yates of Lee’s Summit; two step children Brian Bybee of Pleasant Hill; and Julie Bond of Cleveland, Ohio; granddaughter Marra Yates of Lee’s Summit; two sisters Janey R. Crane of Noble, Oklahoma, and Carolyn K. Looper and her husband LeRoy of Byers, Oklahoma; niece and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2011, at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Reverend D. Kent Deubner of the Pleasant Hill First Christian Church will officiate.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Grace Hospice and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
