Marla Rae Coleman of Harrisonville, Missouri was born August 15, 1958 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Robert Joseph and Mary Ella (Skinner) Donovan. She departed this life on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Blue Springs, Missouri at the age of 57 years, 8 months and 2 days.
On April 12, 1980, Marla was united in marriage to Van Dan Coleman in Independence, Missouri.
Marla was employed at Wal Mart in Harrisonville, Missouri. She was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, Pleasant Hill, Missouri and was a 1976 graduate of William Chrisman High School, Independence, Missouri. Marla enjoyed her family, grandchildren and puzzles. She had lived in Independence and Pleasant Hill, Missouri before moving to Harrisonville in 2006.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert.
Marla is survived by her husband, Van Dan Coleman of the home; a daughter, Sara Hankins and husband, Nick, Harrisonville, Missouri; two grandchildren, Logan and Gabriella Hankins; her mother, Mary E. Donovan, Odessa, Missouri; five sisters, Marsha Elliott, Lee's Summit, Missouri, Dona Landzettel, Independence, Missouri; Dana Madrueno and Mia Adamson both of Odessa, Missouri, Denise Donovan, Kansas City, Missouri; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral Mass was held Friday, April 22,2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.
The family received friends Friday, April 22, 2016 at the church with Recitation of the Rosary at 9:30 a.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
