Mary Ann Payne of Lake Lotawana, Missouri was born September 11, 1948 in Harrisonville, Missouri the daughter of John W. and Essie Payne. She departed this life on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at her home in Lake Lotawana at the age of 60 years, 10 months and 7 days.
Mary Ann was employed for 36 1/2 years as a flight attendant until her retirement in November of 2006 from Northwest Airlines. She was a member of Oak Knoll Lutheran Church, Minnetonka, Minnesota. She was a 1966 graduate of Harrisonville High School and had attended the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Arkansas. Mary Ann received her flight training from North Central Airlines in 1970 and was a 1986 graduate of Northwest University. She did volunteer work for the March of Dimes. Mary Ann lived in Golden Valley, Minnesota before moving to Lake Lotawana in 2007. Mary Ann enjoyed her family, gardening, traveling, fellowship, water sports and working out. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister. She is survived by a sister, Joan V. Dunham and husband, Jon, Lee?s Summit, Missouri; a brother, John W. Payne Jr. and wife, Linda, Harrisonville, Missouri; an uncle, Billy C. Payne, Latour, Missouri; her long time companion, Dan Casserly, New Home, Minnesota; 3 nephews; 3 nieces; 16 great-nieces and nephews; her flight attendant sisters and brothers, and her many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonvillle, Missouri. Burial is at the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
