Mrs. Mary Jo Emick of Raymore, Missouri was born June 6, 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Edwin Michael and Josephine Rose (Kennally) Lynch. She departed this life on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 17 days.
On May 8, 1948 Mary Jo was united in marriage to Clyde Leroy ?Bill? Emick in Kansas City, Missouri.
Mary Jo was a homemaker and was formerly employed as a key punch operator for Nelly Don in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a member of the Raymore Christian Church and a former member of Countryside Christian Church, Mission, Kansas. Mary Jo enjoyed doing volunteer work for Foxwood Springs and Kansas City Association for Retarded Citizens. She had lived in Urich before moving to Foxwood Springs in Raymore in March of 1998. Mary Jo enjoyed her family, crocheting, embroidery and was an avid reader.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cathy June Emick on October 11, 1996; her daughter-in-law, Rozanne Hanser Emick.
Mary Jo is survived by her husband of 61 years, Clyde L. ?Bill? Emick of the home; a son, Raymond Emick, Shawnee, Kansas; a daughter, Betty Ferreri and husband, Alberto, Millesimo, Italy; two grandsons, Brian and Nathan Emick; other relatives and many friends.
A Celebration Of Life Service was held Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri. Cremation with Inurnment at the Urich Cemetery, Urich, Missouri.
Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice or to the Kansas City Cancer Center.
