Mary L. Sorrell

Mary Lou Sorrell 87, formally of Garden City passed peacefully surrounded by family and love at Crown Care Center, Harrisonville on Sept 10, 2017. Cremation with a Celebration of life at a later date.
Mary was born in Mack’s Creek Mo on October 18,1928 along with her twin Betty to James Winer and Minnie Lucinda (Creach) Drenan. Mary attended school in one room schoolhouses in the Mack’s Creek area. She attended high school at Rosedale High School in Kansas City, KS.
On December5,1947 she was united in marriage to David Sorrell. He preceded her in death January 12, 2015. Dave and Mary had three children Linda, David, and Dorothy.
Mary is survived by her children Linda (Dennis) Roberts, Merritt Island, FL. David (Judy) Sorrell Allens Park, Co. and Dorothy (Bob) Spencer, Garden City MO. Six grandchildren Kelli e(Steven) LaBelle, Dennis (Elaina) Roberts Jr, Matthew Sorrell (Jana), Andrew (Lacy) Sorrell, Nick Spencer(Nikki) and Michael (Brandi) Spencer. Nine great grandchildren, Caroline Gillette, Ricky Gillette, Drennan Sorrell, Justin Sorrell, Brian Sorrell, Cayden Sorrell, Emily Illiff, Noah Spencer and Kolten Spencer. Nieces and nephews, and many family members. Her dearest friend and cousin Marge Walker. And her by love family Nikki Jones, Kristen and Grace.
Mary was a member of Freedom Point Church in Garden City. Memorial contributions can be made to the church.
The family would like to thank Crown Care Center and Crossroads Hospice for their loving care.
