Michael Justin Keck

Michael Keck age 25 of Harisonville, Missouri departed this life Monday, October 21, 2013 at The University of Colorado Hospital, Aurora, Colorado surrounded by his family and love.
In our lives, we all get to make our own choices. Ultimately, those decisions are what make it Our life. You are your experiences. Sometimes people go astray from what is truly important. They get wrapped up in materialistic ideals. Stop measuring people by what they own and look deeper for what they have in their heart and mind.
Learn how to love and believe in yourself before you can begin to love and lead anyone else. Be a leader not a follower. Surround yourself with the people who believe in you. With people who are willing to give everything, even when they barely have another ounce to give.
Stay competitive. That is what should drive you. Never settle for being just “good enough”. I fought to be the best father and teacher I could be. When we stop competing to be the best at something in life, we lose purpose.
Now that I am gone, you all better get your minds right. You just can not give up when you feel like you’re facing insurmountable odds. You have to be a FIGHTER. You have to FINISH. The only difference now is that I get to become your biggest fan.
Michael is survived by: his wife, Cassandra and son, Justin; brother, Matt, sisters, Ashley Taylor, Sarah, and Faith Silver; father, Bart, and mother, Tina Silver; grandmothers Charlotte and Donna Abney.
Michael requested his brain be donated to Boston University for Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) research.
Funeral service were held Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Harrisonville High School main gymnasium, 1504 E. Elm Street, Harrisonville, Missouri.
