Mickey Joan Lawson of Harrisonville, Missouri was born June 12, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Lloyd and Pauline (Carr) Tinsley. She departed this life on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Research Belton Hospital, Belton, Missouri at the age of 71 years, 7 months and 28 days.
On October 1, 1955, Mickey was united in marriage to William E. ?Bill? Lawson.
Mickey was a homemaker first and then was employed as an administrative assistant for Sprint in Overland Park, Kansas until her retirement. She enjoyed the outdoors, her garden, feeding the birds, flowers, camping and the Rocky Mountains. Mickey had lived in Buckner, Missouri before moving to Garden City, Missouri in 1969 and to Harrisonville in 1983.
She was preceded in death by her father and a great-grandson, Myles Hayward.
She is survived by two sons, Dan Lawson and wife, Candy, Shawnee, Kansas, Bill Lawson and wife, Nancy, Harrisonville, Missouri; two daughters, Becky Boyd, Harrisonville, Missouri, Brenda Lawson, East Lynne, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Gayle, Justin, Stacey, Cheyenne, Cody, Lynsey and Denee; twelve great-grandchildren; her mother, Pauline Wheeler, New Hampton, Missouri; three brothers, Mike Carey, New Hampton, Missouri, Jim Wheeler, Bethany, Missouri, Roger Tinsley, Chanute, Kansas; a sister, Pam Tinsley, Tulsa, Oklahoma; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 14, 2009 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with Cremation following services.
Family suggest memorial contributions may be made to Childrens Mercy Hospital.
