Mrs. Nancy Lee Sedgwick, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born April 26, 1935 in Carrollton, Missouri the daughter of Raymond Eugene and Lucinda Ardeana (Staton) Ackerman. She departed this life on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kansas at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 6 days.
On December 12, 1953, Nancy was united in marriage to Jarvis Dale Sedgwick in Marshall, Missouri.
Nancy graduated salutatorian of the 1953 graduating class of Tina-Avalon School. Throughout her life she worked as a bookkeeper and medical insurance processor. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading, crocheting, going to the casinos and spending time with her family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Joe and a sister, Katy.
Nancy is survived by her husband, J.D. Sedgwick of the home; three daughters, Floy Ray Kenyon and husband Greg, Guthrie Center, Iowa, Kathy Burgin and husband Tom, Altus, Oklahoma, Peggy Harrison and husband Jim, Lamonte, Missouri; 7 grandchildren, Aaron, Michael, Angie, Hillary, Sarah, Samantha and Lacy; 14 great-grandchildren, Derek, Alyssa, Isaac, Kaitlyn, Cora, Jared, Zander, Conner, Logan, Eli, Jadelyn, Coleby, Paisley; a brother, Charles Ackerman, State of Indiana; other relatives and many friends.
A Celebration of Life Services was held Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the First Christian Church, Carrolton, Missouri. Cremation. Inurnment in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Bogard, Missouri.
Services are under the direction of Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
