Paul Stonecipher

January 1, 1900 — January 30, 2008

Paul William Stonecipher, of Urich, Missouri, was born January 8, 1928 in Devol, Oklahoma, the son of Claude William and Mary Maureen (Willis) Stonecipher. He departed this life Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at the age of 80 years and 21 days.
Paul was a craftsman for Truman Fiberglass Repair, Creighton, Missouri. Earlier he had been a Barber, Farmer and Truck Driver. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Lee's Summit, Missouri. Paul was a Marine veteran of World War II and was a lifelong member of the American Legion Post #26, Uvalde, Texas, where he held every office, and the American Veterans Post #120, Urich, Missouri where he served in several offices. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and pool player. Paul loved dancing, his children and grandchildren. Paul had lived in Uvalde, Texas before moving to Blairstown, Missouri and then to Urich.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Stonecipher and a sister, Christine Gilmore.
He is survived by a son, Robert Stonecipher, Uvalde, Texas; four daughters, Paula J. Stonecipher, Jean Farris both of Creighton, Missouri, Mary Hargrove, San Antonio, Texas, Judy Bownds and husband Ron, Utopia, Texas; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; his loving companion Mary Whitworth, Lee's Summit, Missouri and her extended family; a step-brother, Tommy Winkle and a brother-in-law, Bill Gilmore both of Uvalde, Texas; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial services were held Friday, February 1, 2008 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri.
