Peter Steven Fidler of Garden City, Missouri was born June 22, 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Ralph LeRoy and Patsy Jo (Penninston) Fidler. He departed this life on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 surrounded by his family at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence, Missouri as a result of a motorcycle accident at the age of 52 years, 11 months and 1 day.
As a young boy Peter joined Cub Scouts where he worked his way up to Boy Scouts earning several badges and awards. Peter played baseball and ran track in high school. After graduating HS he was employed by General Motors. He went on to DeVry University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication Management and went to work for Honeywell and later became self-employed. Peter accepted Christ into his heart and was baptized when he was 15 and has been attending church at Lakeview Pentecostal Church in Blue Springs, MO. Peter enjoyed playing golf and bowling with his dad and son, Anthony, as well as Fishing. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his riding buddy Kerry. Peter loved spending time with his family especially when he was aggravating his great nephew Cole Ryan and sneaking Reece peanut butter cups to his great niece Cami. Peter will be greatly missed by so many people.
Peter was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph L. Fidler III on May 11, 2010.
Peter is survived by his son, Anthony Fidler and wife, Jenna, Raytown, Missouri; his parents, Ralpy and Patsy Fidler, Creighton, Missouri; a sister, Tracye Famuliner and husband, Artie, Garden City, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Charlene Fidler, Creighton, Missouri; 2 nephews, John Purtle and Scott Hook both of Garden City, Missouri; 2 nieces, Michelle Welsh, Freeman, Missouri, Tammy Wuerfele, Amity, Missouri; 8 great-nieces and nephews, Cole, Camryn, Zeb, Jasper, Paiten, Samatha, Jacob and Sidney; other relatives and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri.
Cremation with inurnment in the Grant Cemetery near Creighton, Missouri at a later date.
Family suggests contributions may be made to the ALS Association in care of the funeral home.
