Albert Elijah “Chic” Brown of Harrisonville, Missouri was born November 28, 1929 in El Reno, Oklahoma the son of Glen Albert and Myrtle Marie (McIntire) Brown. He departed this life on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Cass Regional Medical Center, Harrisonville surrounded by love and family at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 12 days.
On November 18, 1950 Chic was united in marriage to Alberta Inez Fecht in Mexico, Missouri.
Chic retired from the United States Air Force on April 30, 1973 at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He was a Korea war veteran and served with honor and pride in the Philippines, Morocco, England, Minot, North Dakota, Roswell, New Mexico and Richards-Gebaur AFB in Grandview, Missouri. After his retirement for the Air Force he was employed as the operation director for the Marley Company in Kansas City, Kansas until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Harrisonville, the Twin Pines Country Club and the Men’s Golf Association. Most of all, Chic loved his family, was a true Oklahoma Sooner fan and enjoyed playing pitch at the Club every Thursday. Chic had moved to Harrisonville in 1972.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Chic is survived by his wife, Inez Brown of the home; three sons, Tony Brown (Jane) Newburgh, New York, Mark Brown (Barbara) Clearfield, Utah, Matt Brown (Teresa) Lenexa, Kansas; his daughter, Amy Knox (Doug), Harrisonville, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Tab, Misty, Valerie, Nathan, Matt, Sara, Kyle, Ali and Jackie; ten great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
Cremation. A memorial graveside service was held Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or to the American Cancer Society.
