Rev. Calvin Eugene Wylde, of Harrisonville, Missouri was born May 8, 1925 in Tenton, Missouri the son of Charles and Dora Mae (Misener) Wylde. He departed this life on Thursday, December 12, 2013 surrounded by family and love at the Golden Years Care Center, Harrisonville at the age of 88 years, 7 months and 4 days.
On June 2, 1957, Calvin was united in marriage to Bertha Isabelle VanValkenburgh in Atchison, Kansas.
Calvin was a pastor at the Baptist church in Buckner, Jamesport, Stewartsville, Kansas City and East Lynne, Missouri until his retirement from East Lynne in 1994. Prior to his ministry, Calvin was a professional photographer which he loved doing even after his ministry started. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. Calvin was a member of the First Baptist Church, East Lynne, Missouri and after his retirement attended the Heart of Life Church, Garden City, Missouri.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Beth Fears and Oleta Sharp.
Calvin is survived by his wife of 56 years, Bert Wylde of the home; two sons, Lester E. Wylde and wife Cheryl, Harrisonville, Missouri, Paul D. Wylde, Seattle, Washington; a daughter, Mary Roth and husband Dennis, Raymore, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral service were held 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 16, 2013 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Clearfork Cemetery near Garden City, Missouri.

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the City Union Mission.
