Robert 'Bob' Lotspeich

Bob Lotspeich, 73, of Archie was born on June 30, 1939, in Garden City, to James W. and Gladys (Garrett) Lotspeich. He departed this life, doing what he loved, on May 23, 2013.
After graduating from Garden City High School, Bob attended the University of Missouri. While there he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Bob served seven years in the navy; two of which were during the Cuban Missile Crises. After retiring from the navy, Bob had several jobs including, working for the MO DOT, Gephart Concrete and GM. During all of these jobs, Bob also had his construction business operating and later started Lotspeich Construction full time.
Bob loved his work and making people happy. He was dedicated to his work and was one of the hardest working men right up until the Lord took him. Bob joined forces early on with Lester Building Systems, and was one of their top sales persons.
On November 20, 1958, Bob married Shirlene Wimsatt of Archie, MO. They were happily married for fifty four years and were blessed with two children, Brad and Teresa.
Bob was an active member in his community and enjoyed helping others. He was a member of The United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school and served on the board. He was also actively involved in volunteering in the New York Says Thank You Foundation, where he met many wonderful forever friends.
Bob also enjoyed yard work, gardening and researching geneology, going to the lake, fishing, church, taking his grandkids, Megan and Tyler on vacation, work and most of all spending time with his family.
Bob is survived by his wife Shirlene, his son Brad and wife Jean, his granddaughter Megan Lotspeich-Johnson and husband Matt, grandson, Tyler Lotspeich, all of Archie, Sister Juanita Myers of Overland Park, Naomi Hawn of Harrisonville, Wilma Sisk of Garden City, Helen Kenny (Don) of Holden, a brother, Jim Lotspeich (Betty) of Pleasant Hill and many nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives.
Bob is preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Lotspeich and his parents, J.W. and Gladys Lotspeich, sisters, Ioma McFerrin and June Leslie.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the Archie High School Gymnasium, Archie, Missouri. Burial is in the Crescent Hill Cemetery near Adrian, Missouri with full military honors by Pleasant Hill Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3118, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
