Robert ?Bob? Eugene Wehmeyer, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born October 29, 1927 in Creighton, Missouri the son of John Forsyth and Bonnie Leeota (Farnsworth) Wehmeyer. He departed this life Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Benchmark Health Care of Harrisonville at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 10 days.
On June 21, 1962, Bob was united in marriage to Velma Marie Brewer in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Bob was employed as a carpenter doing home repairs for J. Harold Smith. Earlier, he was employed at Lake City Arsenal. Bob enjoyed working and was always tinkering with something. He was a Navy veteran as a Seaman Second Class and had been a Cass County area resident since 1962.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by infant twin sons, Ray Lee and Roy Lee Wehmeyer; an infant son, Jimmy Don Wehmeyer; a daughter, Dixie Carver and a son, Dean Ray Wehmeyer on September 25, 2010; four brothers, Bill, Loy, John and George Wehmeyer.
Bob is survived by his wife, Velma M. Wehmeyer of the home; 7 sons, John Robert Brewer, Harrisonville, Missouri, Bobby Gene Wehmeyer, Creighton, Missouri, J. Harold Wehmeyer, Jerry Waine Wehmeyer, Jimmy Dean Wehmeyer all of Harrisonville, Missouri, William Edward Wehmeyer, Lee?s Summit, Missouri and Daryl Ray Wehmeyer, Harrisonville, Missouri; a daughter, Tyana Marie Wehmeyer, Harrisonville, Missouri; four children from his first marriage, Chris Carver, Creighton, Missouri, David Carver, Butler, Missouri, Karen Williams, Adrian, Missouri, Sharon Weeks, Holden, Missouri; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Wehmeyer, Creighton, Missouri; a sister, Genieve Carlson, Raymore, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Cremation. A Celebration of Life visitation was held Monday, October 18, 2010 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville with a Military Service.
