Robert Eugene Haling

Robert Eugene Haling of Harrisonville, Missouri was born February 5, 1930 in Walcott, Kansas the son of Clyde and Florence (Zweimiller) Haling. He departed this life Thursday, October 29, 2009 at his home in Harrisonville at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 24 days.
On March 11, 1951, Robert was united in marriage to Doris Rae Nelson in Humansville, Missouri.
Robert was employed as a Lead Lineman for KCPL, Kansas City, Missouri for 34 years before his retirement in 1988. He was an Army veteran serving in the 82nd Airborne during the Korean War. Robert was a member of the First Baptist Church, Harrisonville, a 3 time Past Master and member of the Index Lodge #54 A.F. & A.M., Garden City, Missouri. He was a great story-teller and enjoyed shuffleboard, gardening, bee keeping, fishing and going to the farmer?s market. Robert will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde Haling Jr. and Donald Haling.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Haling of the home; a son, Richard Haling and wife Isabelle, Clever, Missouri; two daughters, Cheryl Lynn Wallace and husband William, Rockaway Beach, Missouri, Debra Sue Parker and husband Randy, Roy, Utah; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother, Theodore Haling, Sweet Springs, Missouri; a sister, Anita Youngblood, Grandview, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial services were held Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Family suggest memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
