Robert Joseph Dyche, Garden City, Missouri was born February 24, 1931 in Kansas City, Kansas the son of James Joseph and Zella (Amos) Dyche. He departed this life on Monday, September 26, 2011 at his home near Garden City at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 2 days.
On November 4, 1950, Robert was united in marriage to Etta Frances Martin in Plattsburg, Missouri.
Robert was a truck driver and was employed by MFA, Harrisonville, Missouri, Werner Trucking, Montgomery Wards, Wilcox and Prime. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville, Missouri. He enjoyed making model airplanes, model trains, restoring antique cars, fishing, hunting and race car driving. Robert had lived in Blue Springs, Missouri before moving to Garden City in January of 1978.
Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a son, Donald; a brother, Eugene and a sister, Mildred Kissinger.
Robert is survived by his wife, Ettta Dyche of the home; two sons, Robert E. Dyche, Kansas City, Kansas, Kevin J. Dyche, Garden City, Missouri; four daughters, Lynda K. Kihn, Garden City, Missouri, Vicky L. Myers, Urich, Missouri, Cathy A. Wiseman and E. Jane Wiedenmann both of Garden City, Missouri; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; other relatives and a host of friends.
Cremation. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri.
Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m until 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the funeral home.
