Roberta "Berta" Lea Baker

Roberta “Berta” Lea Baker of Urich, Missouri was born February 22, 1949 in Lotus, California the daughter of Robert Edwin and Patricia Lea (Michael) Bryant. She departed this life on Sunday, November 24, 2019 in her family home at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 2 days.

On January 26, 1973, Berta was united in marriage to Terry Lynn Baker in Garden City, Missouri.

Berta was employed in food services for many years. Her reputation as a wonderful cook was well known. She enjoyed planting flowers, ceramics, decorating and family gatherings. A favorite pastime of hers was scratching lottery tickets. She especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Baker on August 1, 2018; two sisters, Saundra and Brenda and two brothers, Allen and Bobby.

Berta is survived by a son, Mark Baker and wife Danyelle, Butler, Missouri; 4 grandchildren, Gabriel, Katlyn, Nathan and Joshua; two great-grandchildren, Cori and Ty; an "adopted daughter", Dawn Baker, Oak Grove, Missouri; three brothers, Ricky Bryant and wife Mary, Creighton, Missouri, Ronnie Bryant and wife Karen, Harrisonville, Missouri and Randy Bryant, Urich, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.


Cremation. A Celebration of Life Visitation was held Sunday, December 8, 2019 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Heartland Hospice.
