Roberto "Bobby" Mestas Quezada Jr., of Garden City, Missouri was born August 19, 1944 in Ysleta, Texas the son of Roberto Hernandez and Anna Marie (Mestas) Quezada. He departed this life on Friday, March 23, 2018 at his home in Garden City surrounded by love and family at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 4 days.
On February 14, 1993, Bobby was united in marriage to Gloria Jean Pickens in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Bobby was employed as an assembler for Steelcase, Tustin, California for 31 years. He was a member of the Jimmy Swaggart Ministries and had read the bible cover to cover three times. Bobby played minor league baseball and was a fast-draw champion while involved with a western re-enactment group. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, collecting coins, antiques, baseball cards and vinyl 45 records. He would hear an old song on the radio and could be heard saying, "I have that song on a 45 record."
Besides his father, Bobby was preceded in death by two brothers, Guillermo and Francisco Quezada.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Gloria Quezada of the home; a son, Roberto "Rob" Quezada II and wife Ashley, Harrisonville, Missouri; a daughter, Amanda Marie Quezada, Garden City, Missouri; two grandchildren, Robert Quezada III and Alivia Rose Marie Quezada; his mother, Anna Marie Quezada; a brother, Gabriel Quezada; two sisters, Lydia Diaz and Mary Ontiveros all of Fabens, Texas; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City.
